Share the Road!
We have had a great couple months for Share the Road! Over the past few weeks six different high schools participated in the program, educating almost 300 students on the importance of safety when driving with trucks on the road! We could not have done this without the generous support of TMC Inc, Raymond Corcoran Trucking, Diversified Transfer & Storage, The Legacy Corporation, MDT, Tri-State Truck & Equipment, and Interwest Moving & Storage! Below are some pictures from the different events!

Feds warn carriers about cargo theft scheme
As cargo theft continues to rise in the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is alerting carriers about a sophisticated scheme targeting businesses across the country.
In a recent Liaison Information Report published on Wednesday, April 17, the Office of Private Sector and the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office shared details on a scam that has cost the transportation industry millions.
“This scheme uses social engineering to take over carrier administrator accounts or online accounts for third-party transportation services and trick shippers, brokers or carriers into transferring loads to criminal actors for financial gain,” the agencies said.
The term “social engineering” refers to the use of deception or manipulation to trick individuals into divulging confidential or personal information that could be used for a fraudulent purpose.
According to data from the OPS, there were nearly 500 fraud and fictitious pick-up incidents recorded between November 2022 and July 2023, a year-over-year increase of 503%. Read More

Why OSHA Injury Reporting Matters
Keeping workplaces safe is a top priority for any organization, and part of that responsibility involves adhering to the regulations set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). One of these requirements is the recording and reporting of work-related injuries and illnesses. Understanding the importance of this process, along with its key aspects, is vital for ensuring compliance and promoting a safer work environment. OSHA has set penalties for not reporting injuries: see consequences of non-compliance for more information.
Defining Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses
According to OSHA, a work-related injury or illness encompasses any harm or illness resulting from an incident or exposure in the workplace. This can include sudden accidents as well as gradual exposures that lead to harm over time.
Key Criteria for Recordable Injuries and Illnesses
To determine whether an injury or illness is recordable, certain criteria must be met. These include:
Work-relatedness: The injury or illness must have occurred as a result of work-related activities or conditions.
Severity: It results in death, loss of consciousness, days away from work, restricted work, transfer to another job, amputations, loss of an eye, or requires medical treatment beyond first aid. Remember, doctors and medical staff can give treatment if the employee goes to the emergency room or urgent care that does not exceed the level of first aid, so check the treatment before you report the injury. Just because a doctor does it, does not automatically make it more than first aid.
Additionally, certain chronic conditions like cancer, irreversible diseases, fractured or cracked bones, and punctured eardrums are considered recordable if they are determined to be work-related. Reach out to Will Cole if you would like more information.
